About Dale Ivory

Dale decided to saturate her life in fiction during her retirement years. More reading, more writing, more time with writer friends, and a business that helps other writers achieve their writing goals.

I am very pleased with Dale’s feedback and suggestions.  As an amateur writer, it is often difficult to get solid feedback from friends and colleagues who aren’t always aware of what publishers look for. Dale is honest without being harsh and takes the time to understand what makes me passionate about writing. She adjusts her approach to my goals and emphasizes that creativity and enjoyment are the true measures of my success. I always appreciate her perspective and try to incorporate it into my writing projects.

Wendy Landrian

“Dale Ivory was born to be a book coach. I was lucky to have met her through a writing critique group. Her expertise and knowledge around the book world, as well as her upbeat spirit, can help any writer at any stage write the project they want to write.

Her encouragement helped me so much when I felt there was no way I’d ever finish the novel, and her knowledge of what worked and what didn’t was such a boon. She knows intuitively what writers need on a personal level to get through the blocks that happen while writing a novel.”

Laura Cranehill

“Dale has helped me gain confidence, rediscover fun, and fill in the gaps for the how-to knowledge that I was lacking. As a writer with ADHD, I am so grateful for her kind understanding and actionable solutions that are specifically personalized for me and my ever-changing creative struggles.”

Joy Everett

“Dale has completely revolutionized the way I look at my work-in-progress as well as storytelling in general. She has exposed me to great material, been very good about discussing my topics and concerns while being very supportive. Most importantly, she has converted me (mostly) from a pantser into a story planner – and that’s a great thing! Our discussions always lead to deeper, rich insights that keep me both grounded and motivated and I feel I’m able to tell a much stronger story than I ever expected! Thanks, Dale!”
